It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Society of Medical Physiology of Nigeria (SMPN).
The Society was formed to promote the teaching, research and dissemination of research findings in translational and medical physiology by medical physiologists and allied medical scientists.
The Society of Medical Physiologist seeks to direct the focus of members’ researches to advance the concept of “Gown to Town” where teachings and researches are designed to address and provide solutions to communicable, non-communicable and emerging diseases.
Therefore, the society will promote Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that will engage in disease - specific researches and publications.
Our publication outlet – Annals of Medical and Translational Physiology (AMTPhysiology) is now ready to receive articles for both print and online publications.
The journal has an excellent review mechanism with top rated and very senior scientists across the globe on the review and editorial panels. Efforts are ongoing to register the journal with major international abstracting bodies. We encourage colleagues to publish their articles in the journal.
The SMPN also seeks to advance and protect the welfare and interests of medical physiologists across the globe, in addition to providing effective, efficient and goal-oriented mentoring through high quality physiology education, technologies, networking and grantsmanship.
The cooperation and sacrifices by members of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Executive and Steering Committees and Editorial board are highly appreciated.
